What’s your name & where are you from?

My name is Michaela Faye. I am originally from Newport News, Virginia but I am currently in Greenville, South Carolina.

Describe your musical stylings.

I would say my music is indie pop with hints of soul influences. Since I am still young my music is always changing as I learn more about myself.

What’s different about your brand versus everyone else out here?

My music is different because it is grounded in love. When I perform, I hope to inspire growth and healing within my audience.

Tell us about your fan base?

A lot of my fan base consists of people I have met during shows or in my community. Some of my fans are local musicians I have met while doing shows.

Have you done any live performances?

Yes! I have done live performances. I have performed with another band at the Radio Room, the Hampton Station, and for a couple of smaller shows in the community.

Describe your favorite so far.

So far my favorite show was the Hampton Station. I enjoyed that show the most because it was the first time that I ever performed a full set list of my own.

Who would you love to share the stage with?

If I could share the stage with anyone it would be a local artist named Darby Wilcox. I think that I could learn a lot from her musically and I love her sound.

Describe where you want to be in the future musically.

In the future, I hope that I can use music to inspire love and empathy in others. I want to use my platform to help people. I believe that my sole purpose is to use my talents and heal the world around me.

What artist do you look up to currently?

An artist that I look up to currently is Joss Stone. I love her style of music and I the amount of heart she puts I to her music. I also respect her because she refuses to sacrifice her artistic integrity. Joss also helps people in need. She is a true humanitarian.

Can we expect any new music soon? Yes!

What’s your writing process for your music?

When I write I try to produce the most authentic form of myself. Typically I am inspired by an emotion or something happening in the world around me. I believe that the writing process is beautiful because it helps you understand yourself on a deeper level. The more I write, the more I learn about myself.

What’s your favorite song you’ve recorded so far?

My favorite demo I have recorded so far would have to be a song titled “If Only”. The emotions I was feeling when I wrote the song were very raw and I think it shined through the music.

Does your fan base have a name?

Nope not yet, but that will happen organically.

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans as you grow?

I hope that as my fan base grows we can be as a community. I hope to attract a fan base that sees the potential in the world and wants to bring about change.

How has your career been musically so far?

It has been a wonderful adventure filled with some awesome learning experiences. I have met so many cool and talented musicians and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn with them.

Do you have any advice for an aspiring artist?

Don’t be afraid to make opportunities for yourself! Volunteer for events in your community, make connections with new artists and approach every new situation with an open mind. You will be surprised how many performance opportunities there are in your own community.

I want to be remembered as a compassionate and hardworking individual.

What is something you think about when you hear the phrase ‘It’s A GIVEN.’?

It’s A GIVEN that life isn’t easy. The good news is, the universe has GIVEN us all the tools we need to succeed. With a little hard work and patience, we can achieve great things.
