Jamaican Dancehall artist Spice has gone viral for bleaching her skin, but when everyone didn’t realize it was nothing but a ploy for her new video ‘Black Hypocrisy. She wanted to prove a point and that she did!
She’s always been known to be proud of her skin color, but she made it clear there’s a lot of hypocrisy in the world how some blacks say that their too dark or too light. People are building stereotypes around things that really shouldn’t matter with like skinned and dark skinned problems. We’re more than the color of our skin, but we’re the content of our character.
“I have a dream that one day, black woman will start supporting each other rather than bash each other,” she says at the start of the video.
“I am dripping melanin with honey, I am back without apology,” she adds.
Following the release of the music, Spice fans have been discussion the importance of her stance against colourism.
“Wow. Spice did the damn thing on this track ‘Black Hypocrisy’. The reactions last night to her social media stunt fed exactly into what she’s spitting lyrics about. Issa movement,” said one fan on Twitter.
While another fan wrote: “Spice Black Hypocrisy song is really eye opening.”
“Spice’s ‘Black Hypocrisy needs to be played for every ignorant ass person out there. Especially black men!” added another fan.
