Recording Artist ‘NovaKane’ from Detroit to Atlanta

What’s your name & where are you from?

My name is Nova, but I ’m better known as NovaKane. I  was born in Detroit Michigan, but relocated to Atlanta and love the music scene here. I  do miss White Castle though!

Describe your musical stylings.

My style musically is mostly dictated by my mood when I  start writing. I  pull my inspiration from my feelings, personal situations, events and things I  know my fans would be interested in vibing out too. I  think if people were to label it would be considered trap music.

What’s different about your brand versus everyone else out here?

When it comes to my brand I ’m definitely not an “ABC” rapper or a Soundcloud rapper. My lyrics have substance. I  consider myself more of a lyricist versus strictly a rapper.

Tell us about your fan base?

Wow, My fan base is definitely lit. It’s a crowd that loves to have a great time. I  depend on them to help me reach my goals, streaming music, showing up to shows and cheering me on as I  perform they’re the real ones!

Have you done any live performances?

I’ve performed most recently at Union East Atlanta Village, Up lounge and my favorite was Gill Gallery. It was a great experience overall. Looking forward to showing up and showing out again.

Describe your favorite so far.

At the Gill the Rum punch had me feeling amazing we Vibed out and had a great time. Thankfully we didn’t get into trouble!

Who would you love to share the stage with?

I  would love to share the stage with Whiz Khalifa. Aside from his dope music he’s a good person overall in my opinion. I’ve gotta add Rae Sremmurd.

Describe where you want to be in the future musically.

I  want to make the world feel good, to be honest. Like, when you have a bad day I  want to be the artist you play. I  want to be a source of happiness where it seems like else has failed. Everyone deserves that in their lives.

What artist do you look up to currently?

I  really look up to Wiz Khalifa I  remember when he started the ‘Day Today’ episodes on youtube. I  watched him tour the world. I  actually just saw him in concert on the Daze and Blazed tour. He’s an Amazing performer PERIOD. He’s a great dad to Sebastian as well. That’s definitely where it’s at.

Can we expect any new music soon?

Oh definitely, I’m always working on new material, but I definitely want to release something news within the new year.

What’s your writing process for your music?

Most of my songs have come from me listening to beats and all the sudden I ’d have a conversation with someone, I’ll say something that catches my attention and Igo into writing mode with a vision to recreate an experience.

What’s your favorite song you’ve recorded so far?

My single ‘Robbery’ is definitely the song that will get the crowd ready and they go crazy. It’s amazing to witness the hype.

Does your fan base have a name?

Not at this time, but it’s nothing I ’m going to force right now.

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans as you grow?

I  want them to feel like they can DM me and communicate with me on social media or in public. I  don’t want to seem disconnected and unreachable. That’s not cool.

How do you stay connected with fans?

You can find me on twitter under @Nova_Soar

You can find me on snapchat @r3druma

You can find me on Instagram @2wice_The_talent

my phone is literally always in my hand.

How has your career been musically so far?

I ’m pleased with my career right now. I’ve open for peewee longways before it’s only up from there. People really just rock with me and I  appreciate it so much.

Do you have any advice for an aspiring artist?

Don’t let society discourage you from doing anything you want to do. You don’t have to follow a standard or ‘what’s hot’ be yourself because nobody else will.

What is something positive you’ve done in the community lately?

I  volunteer at Atalanta Community Foodbank twice a year. It makes me feel good to be able to help others families that need it. It’s an honor to give back even with my time to those who are struggling. When I’m able I ’d love to lift that burden more.

How do you want your legacy to be remembered?

I  want to be remembered as someone that people can come to for happiness. Something people can vibe to through from generation to generation… I want to encourage people to accept their individuality and their happiness for whoever they are doing whatever they heart tells them to do.

20.    What is something you think about when you hear the phrase ‘It’s A GIVEN.’?

When I  hear ‘It’s a GIVEN.’ I  think that it’s mandatory. Like Dreams gotta be achieved, pursed and they’ve gotta come true that’s some positive energy.

We asked him if there was anything she’d like to say to his supporters and he said,

“I  truly want to my supporters that’s been rockin’ with me since the beginning Y’all have been passing my music around so rapidly and it’s greatly appreciated. I  love you guys!
